Historical Cycling International and our Canadian associates invite you to join us on a spectacular trip to the Caribbean Island nation of Cuba. Our journey will commence in vibrant and historic Havana where we'll explore on foot and by bike the city's historic center or Havana Vieja, a declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Malecon de la Habana and Miramar neighborhood of elaborate mansions. A visit to Patronato, the Jewish Community Center, will reveal a small but increasingly vibrant community with a rich history that dates back over 500 years. Our Jewish friends will welcome us enthusiastically and enthrall you with their personal stories. We'll attend Shabbat services and join the community members afterwards for a sunset meal. Experience Havana's legendary nightlife and dance the evenings away. Discover Cuba's scenic and remote interior as we pedal past various sugar cane, banana and tobacco plantations to Santa Clara. Connect with the warm and gracious Cuban people as we carry on to the colonial gem of Trinidad. Founded in 1508, this UNESCO declared World Heritage Site is historically intact with cobblestone streets, horse drawn carriages and old tile roofs. Little has changes here since its golden age of the 17th and 18th century. Cycle to the gorgeous lagoon of Caleta Buena, ideal for snorkeling, swimming and exploring the beautiful corals. After pedaling for 6 days we'll unwind by the blue Caribbean Sea at the famous beach resort of Varadero. Enjoy the weekend in the hotels' spa, on the sand with a good book or opt for more active days by playing tennis, swimming, windsurfing, snorkeling or kayaking. .
