Days 1, 2 and 3: Prague
Rendezvous in Prague and spend our first three nights at the four-star
Hotel Maximilian or Hotel Pariz in the heart of Prague. A walking tour
of Jewish Prague includes the 12th century Old-New Synagogue, the Jewish
Town Hall, the Maisel and Pinkas Synagogues and the Old Jewish cemetery
(possibly the most visited monument in Prague). Admire the wonderful
Gothic architecture and abundantly decorated neo-Renaissance, neo-Baroque
and art nouveau facades of multi-storied buildings. Discover Prague
Castle, a symbol of Czech statehood, the Charles Bridge, and delight
with a leisurely, evening boat trip down the Vltava river. Join us on
a soul-searching afternoon as we visit the Terezin concentration camp.
Enjoy our final evening in Prague with an optional soiree to the ballet
or national theater.
Days 3, 4 and 5: Hluboka and Cesky Budejovice
Transfer by motor coach to historically rich southern Bohemia. Pedal
along the Vltava River sweeping down scenic country roads past the beer
towns of southern Bohemia and through forested countryside. Tour
the magnificent 13th century Hluboka Castle built to resemble England's
Windsor Castle. Cycle mostly level roads past fields of golden wheat
and mustard to the town of Cesky Budejovice, birthplace of Budweiser
beer (unrelated to the American version).

Meet
with a representative of the tiny Jewish community. Spend two nights
at the four- star Hotel Stekl. In the afternoons unwind with a visit
to the sauna, solarium or whirlpool or treat yourself to a well deserved
massage. In the evenings we meet over glasses of world-famous local
beers and hearty Czech cuisine to share stories and laughter.
Days 5, 6, 7 and 8: Cesky Krumlov and Sumava
National Park
Pedal to Cesky Krumlov, the Czech Republic's most beautiful and
best preserved medieval town. Step back in time while you wander the
maze of cobblestone streets. Visit the bluff top ruins of the 14th century
castle of Divci Kamen above the river. Settle into the four-star Hotel
Bohemian Gold or Hotel Dvorak, which sits spectacularly on the banks
of the Vltava river in the historic center of town. Visit the town's
handsome, abandoned synagogue. Cycle south along the Vltava River to
Rozmberk, site of an impressive castle and to the Zlata Koruna monastery
in Vyssi Brod. Canoe on the Vltava River. Bike to the Sumava National
Park, nestled between Austria and Germany - pedal past pristine lakes
and across an undulating Bohemian landscape whose Gothic, Renaissance
and Baroque architecture has survived centuries of invasions. Transfer
by private coach to Prague where we'll send you off with a lifetime
of memories. .
